Hybrid Translation + MTQA

This service involves our hybrid translation model in combination with TAUS’ QA tool.

For clients we already hold translation memories for, your source document is first processed by populating it with translations from your discreet translation memories. These translation memories contain only content that has been either produced or edited by a human and never “pure” untouched MT output. Where there is no match in the translation memory for the text, machine translation output is then used. Following this, we use TAUS’ QA tool on only the machine translation output to filter out text that meets its quality criteria. A human linguist then checks the translation memory matches and edits the machine output remaining after the QA check to produce a publication that is of full human quality.

Whilst the confidence level in the accuracy of the translation is slightly lower than hybrid translation due to the QA’d parts of the text that haven’t been looked at by a human, it is slightly more cost-effective. Return on investment is also provided due to the human-edited text being updated into your translation memories for use in future translations.
